About Cohasset Rotary

Rotary is an organization of business and professional leaders united worldwide who provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations, and help build goodwill and peace in the world.

In more than 160 countries worldwide, approximately 1.2 million Rotarians belong to more than 30,000 Rotary clubs. Funds raised from this race are used to provide humanitarian support within Cohasset, in our region and world-wide.

Internationally, our most ambitious program is Polio Plus for the worldwide eradication of polio. Today, thanks to Rotary's $500 million commitment and its leadership in mobilizing volunteers, the world is on the threshold of eradicating the poliovirus. Great progress has been made. Fewer than 10 countries still have polio. The number of cases worldwide has decreased 99 percent since 1985.

Locally, the Cohasset Rotary Club has given in excess of $400,000 as scholarships for our graduating seniors. These and other causes are funded by this race and other projects. "
